We have tested with a positive outcome the Skywater Harmony machine - from maker Island Sky - which takes moisture or humidity from the air and converts it to filtered and alkaline drinking water, using what it calls, "Advanced Air-to-Water Technology®". The process entails "patented adiabatic distillation technology" and while we are not scientists, we believe the unit does indeed deliver clean, fresh water in semi-high relative humidity environments at relatively low cost (it uses electricity), while also reducing the load on air conditioners which must otherwise remove and dispose of the airborne moisture that the Skywater Harmony device turns into potable water.
We believe this is promising technology because as the manufacturer says, "As water shortages persist around the world, Skywater® products provide effective emergency water solutions."
In addition, an appliance that makes water 'from thin air' eliminates the need to buy bottled water, lift heavy water bottles for a water cooler, and, in this instance, purchase alkaline water, which the unit produces automatically with reported health benefits.
